Since 2003, Plans Plus and Konstantin Ashkinadze, P.Eng., Consulting Engineer, have been involved in the design of screw pile underpinning and tieback systems for residential and commercial construction.

Screw pile underpinning is an emerging technology, gaining popularity from day to day. It allows a quick and easy fix for such common foundation problems as settlement, differential settlement, and leaning. However, to be effective, this system must be properly designed and installed; otherwise, it may damage the foundation further rather than repair it.

Plans Plus has teamed up with Abarent Construction, one of the leading foundation repair firms in Edmonton, who is also an authorized dealer of the market-leading underpinning system manufactured by A B Chance Corp., to engineer their products for use in residential foundations repair. Plans Plus is responsible for the "foundation" side of engineering, assuring its strength after underpinning. The "screw anchor" side is engineered directly by A B Chance. The completed installation is inspected and certified by Plans Plus.
